How to try it in 20 seconds
Dingsty first needs to hear hold music, then someone talking. Tick "Quick test", press Start, play any song from another phone for 3 seconds, then talk for 3 seconds. In a real call this happens by itself: hold music, then a person.

Privacy
The microphone is used on this device only. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere, not even the sound. Close the page and it stops. Dingsty only measures how loud and how rhythmic the sound is.
Honest limits (demo)
Use two devices: the phone call on speaker, this page on a laptop or second phone (a phone usually blocks the microphone during its own call). It guesses "music or talking" from rhythm, so a long recorded announcement can fool it: use the slider. It does not press menu numbers or speak for you yet. Tested only with synthetic sounds, not on real hotlines.
